Why 64 GB is the most popular choice
With 64 GB of memory a server has enough headroom for real workloads without paying for capacity you never use. Typical uses are several game servers or one large modded server, a MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL database that keeps its working set in memory, a Docker or Kubernetes node with dozens of containers, a Proxmox host for a handful of VMs, or Elasticsearch and other search engines. The table above lists only servers with exactly 64 GB.
- AMD EPYC 4004 and 4005 (including the X3D models 4584PX and 4585PX), Ryzen 9 5900X, Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 and Intel Xeon E-2300, almost all with ECC memory.
- Our own AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, Ryzen 9 9950X and 9950X3D servers in Vienna start at 64 GB DDR5 ECC and can be configured up to 256 GB.
- NVMe SSDs on most models, use the filters to set a minimum for cores, threads, NVMe or total storage.

Frequently asked questions
Is 64 GB RAM enough for a Minecraft server?
Yes, even for large modpacks or a network of several servers. A single vanilla server rarely needs more than 8 to 16 GB, so 64 GB leaves room for proxies, databases and backups on the same machine.
How many VMs can I run with 64 GB?
That depends on the VMs. As a rule of thumb, 8 to 12 small Linux VMs with 4 GB each, or 3 to 4 Windows servers with 16 GB each, while keeping some memory for the host.
Can I upgrade the memory later?
Our own Vienna servers can be configured with more RAM, ask our team. Partner servers have a fixed configuration, so for growth pick a 128 GB server right away.
Is KYC required?
No mandatory KYC.
