Proxmox VE turns one physical server into many virtual ones. On a dedicated server all of its cores, memory and disks are yours, and with the IPMI console you can install or repair the host yourself.
Why a dedicated server for Proxmox
| All resources are yours | No other customers on the host, so your VMs get the full CPU and disk speed. |
| ECC memory | Corrects bit errors in RAM, which matters when many VMs share one machine for months. |
| Remote console | With IPMI/KVM you reinstall or repair the host without waiting for a technician. |
| NVMe storage | Fast random access keeps many VMs responsive at the same time. |
Which server for how many VMs
| Your plan | VMs | Server |
|---|---|---|
| Homelab or a few services | 5–10 small | Ryzen 7 9700X with 64 GB |
| Agency or small company | 10–30 | Ryzen 9 9950X with 128 GB |
| Many Windows VMs or large databases | 30 and more | AMD EPYC with 256 GB or more |
Rough numbers; RAM is usually the first limit. More in how much RAM do I need.

Frequently asked questions
Is Proxmox preinstalled?
You pick Proxmox VE as the operating system when you order. You can also install it from your own ISO through the IPMI console, or we mount the ISO for you.
How many VMs can I run?
That depends on RAM more than on the CPU. As a rule of thumb, plan 2–4 GB per small Linux VM, 8 GB or more per Windows VM, and 4 GB for Proxmox itself.
Do I get IP addresses for my VMs?
Every server comes with IPv4 and IPv6. You can also bring your own IP space and ASN. Ask us if you need additional IPv4 addresses.
